Ok, am making my wedding registry, and I figure that now is the good time to get a new crockpot, seeing as how mine is a 20 year old hand-me-down.
So, dear ones, my question for you is, which one should I ask for--and why?

Re: Which one?
Wed, December 26, 2007 - 8:47 PMThe only absolute I would give is to be sure the crock is removable. Other than that, I have three. A super large one when I make gallons of soup or stew or cider for a crowd, the medium size I used as my family was growing and a small one that is great for cooking two to four servings for my hubby and myself and daughter if she is over. if I had to choose just one, it would probably be the middle one. It's a little big for a few servings, but holds a pretty good size roast when I make pot roast and vegtables.

Re: Which one?
Wed, December 26, 2007 - 10:24 PMI received a 5.5Q Rival Oval Programmable with stainless steel exterior and three temp settings (high, low and keep warm) with a timer as a gift. It's great, really, and I'd highly recommend it. However, if I were going to buy my own, this is the one I'd buy.

Why? Three reasons.
1) Locking lid for transporting
2) Lid holder so you don't have to set it on the counter
3) Less expensive and better overall value for the $$
Anyway, that's my two cents. Mazel tov, congratulations, joyous glad tidings! Bless you on your wonderful day!
Love and light, dear ones.

Re: Which one?
Fri, December 28, 2007 - 11:05 PMYes, that's the one I got and sure enough, really appreciated that locking lid feature when I took the thing to work for a team potluck. Had a lot less stress in the car when it came to turning, braking, etc. Gosh, do they even make crockpots anymore where the inner ceramic thingy doesn't come out for cleaning? Yeah, that's such a given.
Many marital blessings be upon thee, dear.

Re: Which one?
Thu, December 27, 2007 - 8:30 PMVery important about the removable crock - soooo much easier to clean. Mine is also pretty enough to serve from at the table (black, oblong shape with a pattern in the ceramic).
Congrats!!

Re: Which one?
Mon, January 21, 2008 - 12:16 AMCongratulations!
This is the one I have...

and I looooove it!
One of the main reasons I love it is because, while it is a 6 quart pot, the odd shape easily allows for cooking smaller portions, thereby eliminating the need for a second, smaller crock.
