I have everything I need for beef stew except for white or red taters. Can I use sweet potatoes instead, in my crockpot, without them self-destructing or making the stew weird?
Granted, to cook potatoes in my crock I have to cut them very small.
Now I have to go find some more stew beef, I know I have some.
Happy new year!

Yes you can! I would say half an hour less than reg potatoes.
Sounds good, Good luck. -

Totally agree Timothy! I've used them in 'other' stews (think curry) and usually make the chunks a little larger than regular potatoes so that they hold slightly firmer in the middle. I would recommend trying just a dash of cayenne to enhance the sweetness. It's an old southern trick.
Let us know how you like it, Samantha.
Love and light, dear ones.

Thanks for the thumbs up on sweeties in the stew!
Hey Rev, I was thinking about you yesterday when I read Homesick Texan's recipe for "Good Fortune Soup" with collards and black eyed peas.
